VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

APPROACH & MORE ABOUT ME

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the areas of psychotherapy, psychological testing, research, and teaching for over 20 years. My background has largely involved treating individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect in addition to working with individuals who have chronic psychiatric problems such as addiction, personality disorders, or bipolar disorder.

My approach focuses on treating the "whole" person rather than individual symptoms- taking into account how our personalities influence the way we are able to respond to stressful life experiences. My treatment approach is relational and very strongly reflects my training with Dr. Lorna Smith Benjamin and Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy. The importance of examining how we develop through relationships and the ways in which problems like anxiety, depression, and anger surface in our interpersonal experiences has consistently been the framework from which I work with my clients.
