Psychodynamic Therapy

Summary

At the premise of psychodynamic therapy is the belief that early life experiences and the unconscious mind shape how we think, feel and react. The goal of treatment is self awareness; identifying the root of one’s mental and emotional patterns in order to develop greater insight into current function. Therapy is collaborative and supportive in nature and sessions are typically held weekly for at least several months. Psychodynamic therapy is particularly useful for those who have difficulty forming or maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships.
