APPROACH & MORE ABOUT ME
My approach can best be described as Relational-- I work hard to form a relationship based on the needs of the client.. I try to help you quickly feel at ease and both tell and show me who you are by the way you relate to me. I use this information to help me understand you, and to help you understand how you may come across to others, in a supportive, accepting way, that I hope breeds self-acceptance. I also address depression, anxiety, sex and sexuality, family of origin issues, shame, and self-esteem among other issues.
One of my favorite areas to work with is sex and sexuality. I have over 15 years of experience working with issues in the areas of desire, arousal, orgasm, comfort with sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, and a variety of other issues related to sex and sexuality.
I have worked with lots of people in the arts and in academia, and feel that I have some special knowledge about careers in those areas. I also love working with people in the health and mental health fields, and with people of Jewish and other diverse backgrounds. I do my best to stay abreast of issues that impact the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities so that I can be a supporter and advocate, both in and outside of the therapy relationship.
